PTA Board Meeting Minutes 040808 at CES
Attendees: Kathy Rutter, Julie Amery, Gail Browne, Julie O'Neill, Dee Cote, Tara Nelson, Cindy Russell, Janet Wetherbee,Deb Jancewicz
1.) Science Fair - Julie O'Neill - Science fair was a success. Tallying went well. She would try to find more kid-friendly judges for next year. Some discussion was made as to what to give as thanks for several of the people, not in the PTA, who volunteered their time. Dunkin Donut cards would be given to the judges, some gift certificates for others. Next year, in an attempt to get more teachers and classrooms involved, Julie thought she would give out white boards in the fall to all the classrooms and then have a classroom competition with the winning classroom getting a $25.00 science gift certificate.
2.) Fundraising - Linda Lynch via email - see attached - At the meeting we discussed an incentive for picking up the Yankee Candle orders. We felt it should not be the Coco Key passes because these were used as an incentive to sell Yankee Candle and it was not spelled out that anyone who came to pick up their orders would also get entered into the raffle. We suggested $30.00 worth of local gift certificates could be the "pickup" incentive.
Deb Jancewicz was contacted by a representative of BJ's. They are doing a membership drive and wanted to know if we were interested in having a membership drive through the PTA. We would get $5.00 for each membership we brought in. We decided we had too much on our plate but that we would review it next year.
