Fall Fundraiser -

Runs from 9/17/08-10/01/08, will extend for 1 more week to 10/8/08. 

Orders will be mailed back to Christoline on 10/17/08.

Merchandise will be sent to Cashman on 11/17/08.

Distributed 11/19/08.  Will be raffling off  $10.00 gift cards to those who pick up on the pickup date.

Website Update -

Send in content to Gail ASAP of anything you want posted on the website.

Please get Gail the Poly information by Tuesday night so she can have it posted by Wednesday when the polys go out.

Gail asked about whether to keep the old volunteer list.  Linda said she wants just the new people but to keep the old list in case of an emergency.

It is time to renew our hosting service (1yr-$83.40, 2yr - $142.80, 3 yr - 178.20).  We will go with the 2 yr contract.

There was a glitch with the website.  Mark Hadwen fixed it.  It was a lot of work.  We will give Mark a $25.00 gift card as a thank you.

Science Fair -

There will be a committee meeting in October.

Kindergarden Mtg / General Mtg - October 23rd, at CES.  6:00pm-6:30pm- Kindergarden parents, followed by the general meeting at 6:30pm.

Next Board meeting - October 16th @ CES.

Teacher Appreciation - Will Holly Dawes run this?

CES - Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008.

AES - Thursday, December 4th, 2008.

Membership update - 187 members - 79 single, 54 double

There was a discussion about how to get more teacher members.  We discussed what incentives we could have for teachers.

Gift cards to Staples $25.00 - for the teacher who has the most parents from their class attending the General meetings?

Teachers must be PTA members to be elibible for ACE grants.

Budget - Dee Cote - see attached.

We are starting with about $6000.00 more than budgeted.

There was an error made last year in figuring the In-School Programming money.  Dee motioned that "we put forward to the general meeting for vote that we increase the ISP butget line item from $12,500.00 to $13,500.00 to maintain classroom allocations from the previous year".  Cindy Russell seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.

Dee will send out a letter to teachers giving them approximate allocations pending the general meeting approval.

ACE grant timeline - Julie Amery will be heading this committee

Announce the program with a mass mailing before Thanksgiving break.

Send out guidelines at the beginning of December.

Applications due 2nd week in January, 2009 - Monday, January 12th, 2009.

Gail will copy and email to everyone by January 19th, 2009.

There will be 2-3 committee meetings to review.

Money will be split evenly amongst schools, unless one school does not seek their share of the money.  In that case, the balance of the money will be awarded to the other school.

Grants to be awarded late February, early March.

Fundraising - Linda Lynch

Deb J. Spoke regarding the BJ membership signup - her contact person has left.  They seem disorganized.  We decided to wait until the spring to look into again.

Dress exchange - Before the Father/Daughter dance in the spring - have people donate dresses.  We sell for $5.00-$10.00.

Booze Cruise - Larry Cronin ran a similar function and it raised a lot of money.  We all were concerned about liability.  Dee will call our insurance company and find out about our liability.

Square One Art - Jessica Welch -

At AES - grades 1 and 2 do not have art.  We will notify the teachers.  The teachers will need to get artwork back from the kids and to Jessica by 10/10/08.

9/10/08 Schools start artwork.

10/15/08 School ships artwork.

11/5/08 Kids get packets.

11/13/08 Deadline for ordering.

11/19/08 Orders will be shipped to Square 1 Art

12/12/08 - Orders shipped to us.  For pick up sometime the next week.

Fun,Fun,Fun.. - Dee Cote

Phil Hamel - Volunteered to run the Event be the "Big Kahuna".  Dee will stay involved to make sure all goes well.

To be held - November 15th, 2008.

DJ and CES school are available then.

Nancy Bonin who teaches ELL - helps foreign speaking parents fill out forms.  She is requesting a $20.00 reimbursement for refreshments she serves on these help nights.  The board unanimousley approve to reimburse Nancy for $20.00.

Linda Lynch motioned to adjourn the meeting.  Deb Jancewicz seconded the motion.  The motion was unanimously approved.  The meeting was adjourned at 7:35pm.
