PTA Board Meeting 01/29/09 @ CES at 6:30pm

Attendees: Carey-Ann Creps, Julie Amery, Kerri Dalton, Sherri Ziomek, Lisa Cassidy, Deb Jancewicz, Kathy Rutter, Linda Lynch

1. FFF (Family Fun Fair) planning- Linda Lynch  scheduled for 2/7/09

The plan for prizes this year is to give out 1st, 2nd, and/ 3rd place tokens which can be redeemed at a prize table.

2.  Science Fair - Display board pickups @ CES 2/10/09, @ AES ?

3.  Budget - Reviewed current budget - no questions - see attached.

Dawn Black is now in charge of collecting Shaws receipts - just send into the office with your child.

4.  Spirit Wear - Kerri Dalton

Bruce McBrien said he liked the local company he used best.  The money from the sale of spirit wear went to funding field day ribbons

Currently, Kerri is intouch with a woman from Burlington.  She passed out some samples of the clothes from this company.  They seemed of good quality material and well made.

It was decided the clothing would be red/white.  Each school would have its own logo

5.  Vacation events - Linda Cassidy:

Magic Show - Tuesday, Feb 17th,2009 @ 11am-11:40am in the Town hall

Jump-on-in - Friday, Feb 20th, 2009 @ 11:15-12:15, the cost is $2.00/child.  Because there are just 50 spaces the event is offered only to AES/CES kids ( older/ younger siblings cannot attend).  The PTA will provide snacks in a party room reserved for us.

6.  Meetings

General Meeting Wednesday, March 18th, 2009 at 6:30pm @ CES

Board meeting Tuesday, February 24th at 6:30pm @ CES - Carey-Ann asked if someone could fill in for her as hospitality chairperson for this meeting.

9. ACE - Julie Amery

9 applications have been submitted ( 5 CES, 4 AES)

Tracey Aldrich, Jeanne McCue, Julie Amery are the only members of the committee currently.  It was decided that it would be beneficial to have a few more members.  A notice will go out in next weeks poly. 

The original plan was to announce the grant winners during the week of Feb 23rd.

8.  Vote

Jane Hoggard has raised her hand to be VP AES.  After a short discussion a vote was taken to appoint Jane as VP AES ( to fill Cindy's position).  The vote was unanimous to appoint Jane as VP AES.

Kimberly Putney has volunteered to run the After school enrichment program.

10.  Other

Linda Lynch had concern that the Lowell spinners tickets came in with the actual price we paid on the ticket stub of $11.00.  We charged people $13.00 for the tickets.  She was afraid she would get phone calls asking why the price difference.  Since it is believed the tickets typically cost $15.00 and that it was a fund raiser that most people wouldn't question the price.  We made $170.00 on this event.

11.  Motion to adjourn

Linda Lynch motioned to adjourn the meeting.  Kerri Dalton seconded the motion.  The vote was unanimous to adjourn.  Meeting adjourned at 7:30pm.
